Controversy in the Art World
61
One of the biggest controversies I have seen in a long time in the artist world has recently "popped up". This controversy is called Paint With Your Privates. Sound strange? Well, this new type of art work has recently become popular by a man called Pricasso.
Pricasso is an artist from "Down Under". He lives in Australia but many famous American actors, actresses and politicians are having Pricasso paint self portraits of themselves. However, Pricasso doesn't use a paint brush. He uses his penis! Yup, you read it correctly. You might ask yourself, "How can a man using his private parts paint such good portraits to have famous people want one so badly"? Well, visit Pricasso's website and see for yourself.
The big controversy however, is not Pricasso. It's the newly formed website called www.paintwithyourprivates.com. Paint With Your Privates is a website that allows anyone to enter their Private Parts painting into a contest. Viewers of the website can "rate" your art work online. The artist with the best score wins a grand prize of $100 USD! Coincidently, that is what the artist Pricasso charged to paint your portrait at the 2007 Sexpo. The grand prize will be awarded the day before News Years Eve. So enter and if you win, you can party courtesy of Paint With Your Privates!
The owner, referred to as PWYP, recently took a "pole" on a few forums. He states that more then 60% of the artists on the forums thought it was "refreshing", "an eyebrow raiser", and "a great idea". The other 40% had a more narrow minded view of the idea. One forum patron stated "Oh wow, I can paint with my penis how cool is that! This is not art, it's just stupid". Many of the other forum patrons completely backed the idea of the contest and even thought they might try their "hand" at it!
The website launched on November 7, 2007 and the first contest ends December 27, 2007. People visiting the website are encouraged to visit their sponsored links or to donate any amount they wish to keep the site alive. The more revenue the site makes, the higher the prize winnings become.
So visit the site, even enter the contest! Who knows, you just might win $100 USD!

Well it seems after clicking the links to Pricasso's web site and the PWYP both these do not exist anymore which is hardly surprising when it is much easier to paint with your hands and I would say much more satisfying also.
